Skirts and Cooking

I looked and looked through wedding photos to find some good pictures of the two skirts I had made, but its a no go. So instead Mr. Cook and I took these since I've received so many requests to see how they turned out. I must say that I never received as many compliments as I did for my $10 skirts. And no comments on my modeling skills please.

In other more restaurant related news we are launching our new bar menu tonight. We've decided the best way to organize the space is to have two menus - one for the bar that includes more snacks and sandwiches and then another one for the restaurant upstairs which will be a little more upscale with entrees and appetizers. And in a further effort to create distinction between the two, instead of reffering to the restaurant upstairs as The Warehouse, we've decided to call it the Arthouse Cafe. Here's the menu:

1. Spicy Buffalo Wings
Six American-style wings served with blue cheese dipping sauce and a side of raw carrots
2. Warehouse Spring Rolls
Fresh rice paper rolls with raw vegetables and fresh mango
3. Tempura Beans
Wok fried green beans served with “ketchup”
4. Curry Sweet Potato Fries
Just as they sound, served with a curry mayonnaise dip

Satay: All satays are two skewers and served with rice and pickled vegetables.
Choose from the following options:
A. Scallops with Nuoc Cham
B. Tofu with Sweet and Sour
C. Beef with Sesame Ginger
D. Chicken with Cashew
E. Pork with Asian BBQ
How many would you like?
5. Choose one
6. Choose three
7. Have all five

8. Tropical Pork Sandwich
Roasted pork baguette with a house-made pineapple mango chutney
9. Chicken Parmesan
Grilled chicken served in a warm baguette with tomato sauce and melted cheese
10. Roast Vegetable Sandwich
A mix of roasted vegetables served with a spicy pumpkin spread
11. Steak and Cheese Sandwich
The Philadelphia classic – steak, peppers, onion, and cheese.
12. Chicken BLT
Take a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich and add chicken.
13. Crab Burger
A house-made crab patty served with a spicy SE Asian mayo.

All of the above sandwiches are served with your choice of potato sticks or cucumber salad.

13. Cold Sesame Noodles
A Warehouse mock-up of a Chinese favourite. Served with bell peppers, carrots, onion, and your choice of:
A. Chicken
B. Tofu
14. Steak Salad
Sliced Beef Tenderloin with a lightly dressed Italian bread salad.

We'll let you know how it goes!
